Aan de kapel O.LV. ter Biest, langs de Bieststraat staat een ter nagedachtenis van een RAF-bemanning. Op 7 november 1942 verzeilde Boston Z2157 van 107 Squadron tijdens een raid op Kortrijk boven het vliegveld van Wevelgem. Een snelle reactie van het rond de basis opgestelde Flak geschut werd de Boston fataal.
Het monument is uitgevoerd in Himalaya Blue graniet en het heeft de vorm van het staartstuk van een Boston bommenwerper.

Bieststraat.
This monument commemorates Sqldr. PR Barr DFC – P/O T. Trotter – F/O W. Barfod DFC – Wt. Offc. NSH Phillips RCAF, who crashed in Boston III Z2157 OM near this location and was inaugurated on November 10th 2002
Description of Monument: The memorial has the shape of a Boston rudder in an upright position, has 1,60 m height and is made of ‘Himalaya Blue’ granite from India, placed on a ‘Rustenburg Dark’ granite from South Africa, pedestal.
On the top is carved the Bomber Command crest an English text under it, the N° 107 Sqn. RAF crest in the middle and a Dutch text below.

Dedicated to the memory of Sqldr. PR Barr-P/O T. Trotter-F/O W. Barford-Wt. Off. NSH Phillips, who gave their life for our freedom, when their Boston III Z2157 OM crashed near this spot on November 7th, 1943.
All now are buried at the CWG park at the Wevelgem communal cemetery in the village center.
